About CASH ZA

We're building a simpler, calmer way for South Africans to handle an unexpected expense — with costs explained upfront and support you can reach.

Why we started

Credit shouldn't need decoding.

For a lot of South Africans, the first real encounter with credit is a product designed to be hard to read — a monthly figure on a poster, the actual cost buried three screens deep, and a signature required before the total ever appears.

That isn't a knowledge problem on the borrower's side. It's a design decision on the lender's side, and it can be made differently.

CASH ZA started from a simple test: show the full cost first, in rands, before anyone is asked to commit to anything. If a loan doesn't survive being explained plainly, it shouldn't be sold.

What we're about

Money moments, handled with care.

We believe a loan should reduce stress, not add to it. That starts with showing you the full cost — every rand of it — before you commit to anything, so there are no surprises later.

We only lend what our checks show you can reasonably repay. If the numbers don't work for your budget, we'll tell you rather than approve something that could leave you worse off.

How we make money

No hidden game.

CASH ZA earns from interest and a monthly service fee — both shown to you in rands before you accept an offer. There are no hidden fees: what you see in your offer is what the loan costs.

Our principles

What guides every decision.

Trust before promotion

We lead with the information you need to make a safe choice, before we ask you to apply for anything.

Transparent costs

Every rand of cost is shown separately, upfront, in writing — never bundled into a number you have to unpack yourself.

Responsible lending

Affordability first, always — even when that means saying no to an application.

What we won't do

Commitments are easier to judge than promises.

Anyone can say they're responsible. These are the specific things we've ruled out, so you can hold us to them.

  • No countdowns or false urgencyNo "offer expires in 10 minutes". A rushed borrowing decision is usually a bad one.
  • No pre-approved offers you didn't ask forWe don't push credit at people who weren't looking for it.
  • No selling your dataYour information is used to assess your application, not to build a marketing list.
  • No lending you can't affordIf the affordability check says no, the answer is no — even though approving it would earn us more.
  • No costs revealed lateInterest and fees appear in rands before you accept, never after.
  • No invented reviews or statisticsIf we haven't earned a number, we don't print one.

The people behind it

A small team, building carefully.

We would rather grow slowly and get the money right than move fast and explain ourselves later. If something here is unclear, tell us.
